There’s a chill in the midnight air
Silence in the street
The whole town settles down
For a night of peaceful sleep
But tonight, there’s no rest
For a woman giving birth
Knowing she will soon deliver
God’s grace in this earth

Where the love of God can be found
On a baby’s face

With gold and fancy things
With a bed of satin
To welcome the new King
But instead, a humble stall
Because His home today
Who would think that God Himself
Would honor you this way
